After years of working in the corporate world with companies such as PwC and IBM, Mary made the decision to leave and follow her passion for outdoor exercise and travel. Mary founded ForgetTheGym in 2007 to encourage people to get outdoor, get running and motivated. Mary coaches runners of all levels to enjoy running. Mary recognises the importance of good running technique and is one of the very few Chi Running Instructors in Ireland. Following the great success of ForgetTheGym, Mary is now also running coach and regular contributor to The Irish Times. Mary believes that exercise should be fun, social, enjoyable and painfree. Mary has a keen interest in the psychology of exercise recently completing her Msc in Sport and Exercise Psychology at University of Ulster. As a keen long distance runner Mary herself has completed over 40 marathons and ultra-marathons up to 100k in distance. Her first book about running will be published in early 2019 by Gill Books.
