Harry McGee is an author, journalist and broadcaster. His book The Murderer and the Taoiseach(Hachette) is published in May 2023. It delves into the infamous GUBU murders committed by Malcolm Macarthur in 1982 and the sensational political scandal which ensued that almost brought the Government of Charles J Haughey to its knees.
He is political correspondent with The Irish Times and previously worked for The Irish Examiner, The Sunday Tribune, RTÉ and the current affairs magazine, Magill, which he edited. He has written and presented TV documentaries in English and Irish for RTÉ and TG4. He also wrote, produced and presented the seven-part podcast series, GUBU, for The Irish Times. A native of Salthill, Galway, he is a graduate of the University of Galway and the King’s Inns.
