Chris Dooley is a journalist at The Irish Times in Dublin. Since joining the newspaper in 1997, he has held a number of posts including south east correspondent, deputy news editor and opinion editor. He is currently foreign editor. A graduate of the journalism school at the old College of Commerce in Rathmines (now DIT Aungier St) he worked for the Irish Press group up to its demise in 1995. From Co Offaly, he lives in Stoneybatter, Dublin. His first book, on John Redmond and the campaign for Irish home rule, will be published by Gill & Macmillan in 2015.
