Literary Agent - Faith O’Grady
I studied at Trinity College, Dublin, and have a background in publishing. I have been working at the Lisa Richards Agency in Dublin since 1998, when Lisa and Richard Cook asked me to set up the literary department.
For fiction, I am always looking for exciting new writing – distinctive voices, original, strong storylines, and intriguing characters.
I am also looking for quality non-fiction, including memoir, history, narrative, biography, lifestyle, sports, self-help, quirky humour and pop culture.
I represent a broad range of literary and commercial writers of fiction and non-fiction. I also represent writers of children’s fiction for 8+. Although I often find these via contacts and recommendations, I also welcome unsolicited manuscripts. If you wish to submit your work to the agency please follow the submission guidelines. I don’t handle horror, science fiction, screenplays, or children’s picture books.
My aim is to help the authors I represent reach their widest possible audience through all available avenues, including the sale of international film/tv and subsidiary rights throughout the world. Our foreign rights are handled by the Marsh Agency in London and our US rights are either handled directly by Lisa Richards or in association with experienced agents there.
You can submit material to Lisa Richards by post or email to firstname.lastname@example.org
If sending fiction, please limit your submission to the first three or four chapters, and include a covering letter and an SAE if required. If sending non-fiction, please send a detailed proposal about your book, a sample chapter and a cover letter. Every effort will be made to respond to submissions within 3 months of receipt.
