Bernard O’Shea is an Irish comedian and broadcaster from Durrow, County Laois.
In radio he wrote sketches for Today FM and co-hosted two breakfast shows on “I Radio” and 2fm. On Television he first made his name on RTE’s The Republic of Telly co wrote and co-starred in the sitcom Bridget and Eamon and more recently can be seen in Marty and Bernard’s Big Adventure. In the course of his stand-up career he won the Harp Newcomer Comedy Award in 2000 and performed in the BBC Newcomer Awards the same year. Over the years, Bernard has made a number of regular TV appearances including Dancing with the Stars, The Panel, Naked Camera, The Byrne Ultimatum, The World Stands Up and The Late Late Show. He has performed at comedy festivals around the world including Montreal and Edinburgh.
His first book “My wife is married to a feckin ejit” was published in 2019.
He currently lives in Dublin with his long suffering wife and three children and is a full time comedy writer and performer.
