Gearóid Farelly is a polished live performer.
He is a regular at Irish festivals including the Vodafone Comedy Festival, Kilkenny Cat Laughs, Electric Picnic, Halloween Howls, Galway Comedy Festival and is a regular touring support to some of the country’s top names and supported comedy royalty, the late Joan Rivers, on her tour of Now or Never in Dublin and the UK. He has completed national tours with PJ Gallagher, Neil Delamere and Maeve Higgins. He has also supported Tommy Tiernan, Jason Byrne and Rich Hall in Dublin’s Olympia Theatre. Gearoid recently supported Sarah Millican on a number of her UK tour dates.
Gearóid Farrelly’s comedy career got off to a flying start in 2008, when in the space of a few short weeks he was a finalist in the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny? competition at the Edinburgh Festival and winner of Bulmers Nuthin Butt Funny Newcomer competition at the Bulmers Festival in Dublin. He made his solo debut at the Edinburgh Fringe with his show Turbulence, receiving critical acclaim and 5 star reviews.
His stand-up appearances for television include Stand & Deliver, Tonight With Craig Doyle and as a guest of Ardal O’Hanlon for Dave’s One Night Stand. Gearóid is probably best known for playing the conjoined-twin of PJ Gallagher in Meet Your Neighbours. He also appeared on The Panel and has notched up numerous other appearances.
On radio he had a weekly comedy slot on Breakfast with Bernard and Keith on iRadio and following that a similar slot on The Morning Crew for 98FM. He has also filled in as guest host for both stations and was a regular contributor to The Colm Hayes Show on 2FM where he also provided an alternative Royal Wedding commentary for the wedding of William and Kate.
In addition to writing material for Meet Your Neighbours, Gearóid has also contributed to numerous shows and pilots for TV and radio.
Gearoid has performed at a number of corporate events for clients and charities including ESB, Zurich, Mars Foods, Down Syndrome Ireland and Distilled Media Group.
